Winner of both the USA and World Championships in the event of a hurdle, Lolo Jones has reached her current standing after many years of hard work and an immense amount of patience. Jones grew up with the most difficult of lives being the daughter of an unwed mother who had five other children. She lived with her mom at a basement church and was always on the go. This nomadic life led Jones to change schools and attend an entirely new school each year, until she began in high school. At Theodore Roosevelt High School, Jones was separated from her mother in order to pursue her interests in the track and field events. She stayed in four residences during her time at high school, so she could study all in the same place.
